Recent Chemical Review article published!

August 21, 2024

Our recent ACS review and cover!

Co-authors Gail A. Vinnacombe-Willson (CIC biomaGUNE), Yilli Conti (ICMAB, CSIC), Andrei Stefancu (Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich), Paul S. Weiss (UCLA), Emiliano Cortés (Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich) and Leonardo Scarabelli (ICMAB, CSIC) offer their expertise in this cover article for the Journal Chemical Reviews for the American Chemical Society. The article explores the in situ growth of gold nanostructures on various substrates, simplifying the fabrication of plasmonic materials while also eliminating the need for traditional colloidal synthesis, offering greater control over nanoparticle formation and placement directly on surfaces.

The cover image courtesy of author Gail A. Vinnacombe-Willson depicts in situ gold nanoparticles (grown in various nanostructures) being synthesized on different surface types without the need for prior colloidal synthesis.
